Meissner’s SGT provides high accuracy pressure monitoring functionality for pre-sterilized single-use systems. The SGT employs a TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) diaphragm which allows standard sanitary pressure gauges and transducers to be attached to a single-use system, while maintaining sterility of the system and eliminating cross contamination concerns. Additionally, gauges and/or transducers can be aseptically removed from the system for offline calibration during processing should this become necessary.
The SGT is available with a wide range of connections. Hose barbs to support tubing from 3/8″ to 1″ inner diameter, as well as ¾” sanitary flange connections are offered, which makes the SGT suitable for nearly all single-use assembly flow paths. The SGT is injection molded from the same polypropylene material as our UltraCap® H.D. capsule filters, thus mitigating the number of fluid contact materials included in your single-use system.
The SGT is typically provided as part of an integrated single-use system that is designed in coordination with Meissner’s applications engineering team. It can also be ordered as a stand-alone item for inclusion into systems at point of use or during an alternative integration process. When ordered as a stand-alone item, SGTs are provided as a basic assembly which includes a single-use sanitary clamp and a blind cap to protect the TPE diaphragm. These basic assemblies are each individually double bagged and are available in either non-sterile or gamma irradiated formats
